| Moving along through the term |
| This is the end of week 4 of the semester, and we hope you’re fully into the rhythm of things, enjoying your lectures, and learning more about God, others, and yourself. Our Study and Reading weeks take place over weeks 7 through 9. During this three-week period from Monday, 1 September to Friday, 19 September, there will be no classes (except for block courses), no weekly karakia, and no community lunches. Plan to use the upcoming Study and Reading weeks to get work done on assessments, get some study in, and gear yourself up for the home stretch when classes resume in week 10 on Monday, 22 September. If you have any questions, talk to your teachers or any of our staff. |

| Assessments and extensions |
| You’ve hopefully planned around your assessment due dates and have your head wrapped around the expectations at Carey. It’s your job to make sure everything is in order. So, do what you’ve got to do to make that happen. As you know, we’ve updated our assessment regulations this year, so make sure you have reviewed this information and are up to speed on appropriate use of AI and more. The Assessment Declaration page has also been changed, and you must submit one for EVERY assessment. So, check that one out too—it’s in your course page(s) on CareyOnline, under the Assessments tab. ExtensionsIf you are worried about getting your assessments done in time and would like to request an extension, please contact Neroli Hollis, and complete an Application for Extension form. Remember, these are for unforseen circumstances, not poor planning. |

| First Steps and the library |
| Anna, Mei Ling, and Siong are keen as to assist you with anything you need. Flick them an email, give them a call (09 526 0347), or stop by the library. Last week to complete First Steps First Steps is required for new students, and we ask that you complete it by 22 August. That’s plenty of time, so get to it if you haven’t yet! You can find it through CareyOnline, but chat to the library staff if you need any help. Library Hours- Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 6:30pm
- Friday: 9am to 5pm
- Saturday: 10am to 12:30pm
Accessing Archives and Stack collectionAs a reminder, accessing the archives collection or books that are in the stack collection will require some forward planning for the next few months. Three working days' notice needs to be given if you would like anything from either collection. Just give us a shout, and we will help you out. |

It’s a ways off still, but some of you are graduating next year, and we can’t start getting excited about that too soon. Graduation will take place Saturday, 16 May 2026 from 2pm (location TBC). Those graduating will need to arrive by noon), so mark your calendars. If you’re graduating, a form to apply to graduate will be available from Neroli shortly. Stay tuned!
