CAREY WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 2023 SEMESTER 2 WEEK 6

Christmas in August

This week we celebrated our mid-winter Christmas, courtesy of your Student Association. It was a wonderful time to eat unbelievable food and have fun singing some of our favourite Christmas songs (with the famous Carey ukulele band making an appearance).

This week also brings us to the Study and Reading weeks, and hopefully a place where we all can gain a little perspective. You'll likely be working hard on assessments (and maybe even getting ahead on ones to come!). But this is also a good time to let the content you are learning about from your lectures take root and transform you. As you work, we pray you grow closer to Jesus and to the calling he has placed on your life.

Assessment Support
As you are working, you may come to a point where you need a bit of help. Don't worry, because support is never far off. The library team are keeping normal hours, and Tanya and Eugene are available to chat and help as well.

Don't forget about the 10 Essentials found on CareyOnline. These are invaluable resources that can make a massive difference as you complete your work, and they are a great place to start!

Study/Reading Weeks 28 Aug-15 Sept

Beginning the week after next, Carey's Study and Reading weeks begin, spanning semester-weeks seven through nine. Lectures will resume in week 10, beginning Monday, 18 September. Also, there will be no weekly karakia and no community lunches during the next three weeks.

The following block courses will take place on campus over the reading weeks:

  • Introduction to Preaching from 29 August-1 September
  • Worship Then and Now from 11-15 September

Support is here for you!
