CAREY WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 2023 SEMESTER 2 WEEK 5

How are you growing?

With just a week to go before our Study and Reading weeks, you've likely got a good sense of what this semester can and will be. We hope you are excited about how God is growing you through your studies and relationships with your lecturers and other students.

While the Study and Reading weeks are not a "break," we hope they give you space to get your head around upcoming assessments and settle in for the home stretch. There will still be stuff to do for your courses, so keep up with CareyOnline, as your lecturers have self-directed study for you to engage with each week. Take some time to look ahead so you don't get behind.

As you keep diving into course work, spend some time reflecting on how you've encountered Jesus throughout this semester. How have you been challenged? What have you discovered about yourself? What excites you?

Mid-year Christmas by SASS

Next Monday, 21 August is the Midwinter Christmas celebration in the wharekai sponsored by your very own Student Association, and the theme is "Celebrating Jesus." Learn more on our current students Facebook page

Be sure to wear something that signifies your favourite character from the Bible, other than Jesus and God.

Oh, and there will be a mean feed, so come hungry!

Study/Reading Weeks 28 Aug-15 Sept

Beginning the week after next, Carey's Study and Reading weeks begin, spanning semester-weeks seven through nine. Lectures will resume in week 10, beginning Monday, 18 September.
You'll no doubt be busy as working on assessments and reading, but we do hope you find the weeks helpful and restful.

The following block courses will take place on campus over the reading weeks:

  • Introduction to Preaching from 29 August-1 September
  • Worship Then and Now from 11-15 September

Have a mate register for Open Day, and you may be the lucky winner!

Also, Online Open Evening is Tuesday, 10 October from 7.30-8.45pm. You can tell your friends about our Online Open Evening too, ya know?

At this point, you all should know how amazing the library staff at Carey are. And if you don't, have you even been in the library? Or asked them for help? Seriously, they are legends. Make the most of their expertise during library hours:

Friday 9am-5pm
Saturday 10am-12.30pm
