Steadily progressing on…

With five weeks of lectures behind us, you’re hopefully progressing well, building on your learning week after week. God is growing you through your studies and relationships with your lecturers and other students, and we trust you’re starting to see things take shape.

The week after next, we start our Study and Reading weeks (from Monday, 14 April to Friday, 2 May), giving you space to get your head around upcoming assessments and settle in for the home stretch. There will still be work to do for your courses, so keep up with CareyOnline, as your lecturers have self-directed study for you to engage with each week. Don’t forget to take some time to look ahead so you don't get behind.

But, as you keep diving into course work, make sure you focus a bit of time to reflect on how you've encountered Jesus this semester. How have you been challenged? What have you discovered about yourself? What excites you?

Extensions and assessment support

If you are worried about getting your assessments done in time and would like to request an extension, please contact Neroli Hollis, and complete an Application for Extension form.

And don’t forget about our updated assessment regulations this year, which include a declaration on the appropriate use of AI and more. They are in your course page on CareyOnline, under the Assessments tab.

10 Essentials for Assignments

If you haven’t deeply mined the treasure trove that is the 10 Essentials yet, be sure to do so. It’s amazing, with details on everything you could ever need—referencing, submitting assigments, footnotes, and more!

And, as always, if you need something, reach out to Student Support for anything at all.

Graduation—we need your help!

Graduation is one of the most significant events on the Carey calendar. It’s made that way largely because we have current students helping make the day great for our graduates. And we need your help this year for the following:

• Ushering: Four people needed
• Serving team: Six people needed
  
• Parking wardens: Two people needed

Helpers are needed from 1pm Saturday, 24 May 2025 at Manuaku City Baptist Church. Graduation is at 2pm, but we need helpers to turn up a bit early.

Weekly Karakia Tuesday from 11:15am

Jonny will be sharing at karakia this week as we continue to trek through Mark’s gospel. Join us on-site on Tuesday at 11:15am in the chapel.

• Monday to Thursday: 8.30am to 6.30pm

Celebrating 100 Years

You may have heard, Carey is turning 100! And we have a lot to be excited about as we celebrate our rich heritage and look forward to our next chapter. This special event will also mark the formal opening and dedication of our new campus.

You’re invited to be part of our Carey Centenary, which will run over two days from Friday, 20 March to Saturday, 21 March 2026. Please save these dates, and we will provide you with more details closer to the time.

To help us plan meaningful and engaging events, we’d love for you to complete a short form indicating your interest in attending and what you might like to see at the event. Your input will also help shape the content of these celebrations, ensuring they reflect the rich history, achievements, and community spirit that define Carey. Please take a moment to share your thoughts—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
