Covid-19 Update Tuesday 5 October

Kia ora koutou. Yesterday’s Covid-19 announcement from the government means that Carey’s current Alert Level 3 arrangements remain in place. This means that the campus remains closed to staff and students. We are as disappointed as I am sure many of you are at this announcement, however the safety of our students and staff continues to be our primary concern and priority.

These arrangements will be in place at least until Friday 23 October, at which stage we will review in light of current alert level restrictions. We are still hopeful to be able to meet on campus for the last two weeks of the teaching semester, however this will clearly only occur if Auckland’s Covid alert levels allow. We will be reviewing this on a weekly basis. The library remains closed, however it is operational for click and collect Monday to Saturday 10:00am-1:00pm. Do not hesitate to contact the library team if you need any assistance with resources.

To re-iterate, all classes (weekly taught and blocks) will remain online via Zoom until at least Friday 23 October. We will make a decision about the remaining two weeks of semester before that date.

For the most recent advice on Auckland restriction and the three step plan announced on Monday 4 October please refer to the Auckland Regional Covid Advice page. Other specific regional advice can be found on the Government’s Covid Advice page here. Stay safe and look after one another. Kia kaha, kia manawanui.
