This week we are excited to be launching a new student peer-support initiative. We have three new Peer Writing Assistants (PWAs) who have volunteered their time to work with students to help them with academic writing and academic literacy. Thank you Monique, Vince and Charles (left to right in photo). If you would like help with your assessments, you are able to book time with one of our three PWAs. As this is a pilot scheme, there are limited booking slots available, and a maximum of TWO bookings per student. For this pilot scheme, we are limiting this to on-campus bookings for this semester (one), with the intention to offer online appointments from semester two. All appointments will be held in the library information commons room.

For an extended one-to-one booking (30 minute or 60 minute options) email : library@carey.ac.nz and include:

  • Your name and student ID number
  • Identify which assessment you are focussing on (course, assessment outline)
  • Identify if you want a 30 minute or 60 minute slot

The available time slots for the rest of semester one are as below:
Tuesdays whole day
Wednesday 12:30pm-1:30pm
Thursday afternoon

Email the library with your preferred time and you will be given an appointment.  Confirm your appointment time within 48 hours.

There will also be a peer writing assistant DROP IN session every TUESDAY from 12:30 -1:30pm in the library. No booking required – suitable for shorter questions and queries.

If you have questions, feel free to talk with any of the library team.

ngā mihi
