I have a painting on my office wall that is a constant reminder to me of Carey students. Most times that I look at it I am encouraged to thank God for you and your commitment to Jesus and the Gospel. The painting illustrates the story Jesus told in Matthew 13:45-46 and it forces me to thank God for 367 students who understand the value of the Kingdom and are prepared to give up plenty to serve within it. Completing a theological education can have many costs e.g. financial, career paths, fancy homes, family, friends, expensive toys, and less time to socialise because of all those assignments!
My prayer this week is that God would honour you greatly for the way that you honour him. I find Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 4:10 so motivational – the reason we carry around in our body the death of Jesus is so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed”. Awesome!
