End of Semester

Next week is the final week of Semester!

There is still one last lot of catch up classes on Monday. These are as follows:

  • Monday 15 June — Christian Spirituality, Intro to the NT, and Humanity & Hope

Remember, all assignments need to be turned in by Friday 19 June. Contact Neroli if landing at that date is going to be an issue ‐ the normal extension period changes with the end of the semester.

Student Support Standing By

The semester may be drawing to a close, but support is still available. As you focus on completing assessments and preparing for the weeks ahead, our Student Support team remains ready to help. Jarrahmal, Denise, Neroli, and our library team, Siong and Mei Ling, are available to assist with assessment planning, research, and connecting you with the resources you need. If you have questions, need some encouragement, or would benefit from a conversation about your workload, please get in touch. We're committed to helping you cross the finish line with confidence.

Semester Two Textbook List

If you're continuing your studies in Semester Two, now's the perfect time to get prepared. The textbook list for upcoming courses is available, giving you plenty of time to check what's required and plan ahead. Many texts can be accessed through the library, while others may need to be purchased. Although Carey doesn't sell textbooks, we've included everything you need to find the right resources before classes begin.

Five Ways to Wellbeing

Take care of yoursleves

As winter settles in across Aotearoa, shorter days and cooler weather can make summer afternoons at the beach feel like a distant memory. At this time of the year, it’s normal to notice shifts in your mood and energy. Science helps explain why you might feel a bit different in winter. When you get less sunlight, it can disrupt your internal body clock - affecting your mood, sleep, and appetite. You might find yourself sleeping more, craving different foods, and choosing to hibernate at home.

The good news? There are simple, evidence-based actions you can take to give your wellbeing a boost when it’s cold outside.

Check out the Mental Health Foundation of NZ’s guide for tips on how to support your wellbeing this winter.

Weekly Karakia

Our weekly Karakia gatherings have been a highlight of semester one, providing opportunities to worship, learn, and connect as a community. While Karakia will take a break over the study period and semester break, we’re already looking forward to gathering again from Week One of Semester Two.

In the meantime, you can still stay connected by listening back to the recordings from this semester. Catch up on a session you missed or revisit a message that particularly encouraged you.
