CAREY WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 2024 S2 WEEK 14

Resting and being productive

You’ve got a long weekend coming, which is a good thing for a few reasons. One, you get a chance to rest, sleep in, and hopefully do something you enjoy. But it’s also a great time to get some work done on your assessments. Maybe you feel like it’s THE time to get things done. If so, we hope it is productive for you. But we also hope you take a moment to care for yourself, get some good sleep, and make the most of the time you have to crush your assessments. Have a great weekend!

Campus closed for Labour Day, 28 October

In case you didn’t know why we have a long weekend, it’s Labour Day on Monday, and campus (including the library) will be closed.

Monday lectures will not take place next week, but make-up Monday is happening in week 16 (4 November) for all classes missed.

The end (of semester) is near!

…but don’t panic! With the end of the semester a few weeks away, remember that ALL assignments need to be in by 15 November. Late submissions will NOT be accepted, unless you have approval from Neroli.

If you need an extension, please talk to your teacher and Neroli, and complete an application for an extension.

Wanna be cool?

Well, you can be… We just placed a new Carey merchandise order, so now is your chance to get in. We’ve got hoodies, beanies, and t-shirts. Come to reception, or ask Nicola if you want something.

Price list

T-shirts: $30
Hoodies: $65
Beanies: $15

The Library

Stop in or email the library for anything you need, whether you need help with your assessments or gathering resources. Also, they love to chat and encourage you, so that’s a great reason to stop by too!

Library hours

Monday, 28 October (Labour Day): CLOSED
Tuesday to Thursday: 8.30am to 6.30pm
Friday: 9am to 5pm
Saturday: 10am to 12.30pm

2025 enrolment

We’re sure you have loved your study this year, so if you are interested in continuing next year by starting another qualification, chat to Neroli!

Community rhythms wrapping up

Next week is our final karakia of the term, and you won’t want to miss out! With the Labour Day holiday, there is NO Coffee, Convo, and Cake on Monday. We will have our last community lunch Tuesday after karakia, however.

2025 fees approved!

We know it’s still 2024, and there is a lot to do before next year (Summer break, Christmas, and making it through this term, to name a few!). But, we wanted to let you know that the 2025 fees have been finalised. This includes the Student Services Fee—thank you to those who provided feedback! If you are continuing on next year, be sure to check these figures out. And if you haven’t looked at the 2025 provisional timetable, give that a squizz too!
