CAREY WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 2023 SEMESTER 2 WEEK 2

An Unwavering Heart

My heart is unwavering, God.
I will sing and make music—
    yes, with my whole being!

We are two full weeks into the semester, and you're (hopefully) getting a sense of what your rhythms will look like, how you will plan to knock out your assessments, and how you will rest. If you aren't thinking about that last one, you should be. There's a lot going on, and maybe things can seem a bit overwhelming. But, leave room for rest, or singing, or making music, and dedicate your whole being to hearing from the Lord as you study.

May your heart be unwavering as the semester progresses.

Have you checked out the 10 Essentials?

The 10 Essentials on CareyOnline discuss assignment writing, referencing, and tons more you need to know for excelling in your studies. They provide practical help and useful guidance in approaching theological study.

Got a question about using Greek and Hebrew in your assessments? Wondering how to use the library? What about how to reference using SBL? Check out the 10 Essentials, and make the most of them before you start turning in assessments.

Final call for Change of Enrolment

Are you in the right level for your course? Something else off? If you need to make changes to your courses, complete an Application to Change Courses by this weekend

Need some support for your Mission of God assessment?

The first assessment for Mission of God students is coming up soon--11 August for the Monday course and 19 August for the Tuesday, CareyLocal course. All Mission of God students are welcome to attend an essay question workshop on Thursday, 3 August at 7.30pm.

Our Student Support team will walk through some tips that will help you crush this first assessment, so you won't want to miss it.

Parking, ID Cards, and Changing Courses

The start of the semester means a lot of administrative things to do. Here are a few important ones:

  • Car stickers for parking are available at reception. Talk to Jacqui if you plan to park your car on campus.
  • You can also pick up your ID card at reception after you pay your fees and submit your Public Trust form.
  • Finally, if you need to change courses, there is still time. Complete an Application to Change Courses form and submit it to Neroli.

General Formation Tuesdays 10-11am

All students are welcome to attend general formation on Tuesday mornings throughout the semester with Nicola from 10-11am.

If you're on-site, pop into the Library Commons Room, and if you are regional or a CareyLocal student, feel free to join via Zoom (Meeting ID: 971 1733 5757).
