CAREY WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 2023 SEMESTER 1 WEEK 14

Are you hanging in there?

It's that time of year when deadlines loom. When anxiety can escalate. When patience runs a bit thin. It can be hard to focus and hang on, and being aware of your emotions and pressures can be challenging.

We get it. And we have staff all over the place who can be a listening ear and support you as you finish out the term. Stop by the library and say hi to Anna, Siong, and Mei Ling. Go see Tanya or Eugene in Te Whare Oranga. Come see Jacqui, Neroli, or some of our other staff near Reception. Or chat to your teacher. We know there is a lot on, and we're keen as to help support you!

Campus Closed for KB

Campus (and the Library) will be closed Monday, 5 June in observance of King's Birthday. As a result, there will be classes on Monday, 12 June to make up for the holiday. We will also have community lunch that day, so don't forget to come to class and eat!

Also, thank you for those who completed the course evaluations. Your teaching team will be providing feedback to classes that were being evaluated in the next week. Check your CareyOnline course for details. Your feedback helps us to continually explore ways of improving what we do.

End of Semester IMPORTANT Message

With the semester one coming to a close, please note the following:

  • Semester one ends Friday, 23 June.
  • All final assessments must be submitted to CareyOnline by 23 June at 11.59pm.

Assessment extensions must be submitted and approved by the Academic Registrar prior to due dates.

If you need an extension, please complete an Application for Extension to Complete Assement and email it to Neroli on neroli.hollis@carey.ac.nz. The end of semester and marking timeframes outlined below constrain what is possible around any approved extensions. It is critical that you talk to Neroli if you are unable to meet the 23 June assessment submission timeframe!

Semester one results will be released on CareyOnline on Friday, 7 July. Your Student Portal gives you access to your final course grades. If you require an actual transcript please also connect with Neroli Hollis.

Change of Course

If you need to add, remove, or change a course for semester two 2023, it's not that hard. Just complete this Application to Change Courses and get it to Neroli. Easy peasy!
