CAREY WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 2023 SEMESTER 1 WEEK 13

Word, World, Work

Have you checked out the Carey podcast: Word, World, Work? It's an opportunity for you to hear from some of our staff about the research they have been doing to that weaves together God’s Word, the World we live in, and the Work we are called to do. There are already two episodes highlighting the work of two of our lecturers, Michael Rhodes and Jonathan Robinson.

And as you can see from the picture above, Emma Stokes and Nicola Mountfort have recorded the next one, which will drop next week. What's it about? If only there was an easy way for everyone to listen to the Word, World, Work podcast.

A reminder about the end

...of the semester. Just a reminder that classes go until and including Monday, 12 June. Tuesday and Wednesday classes wrap up the week prior. Also, all assignments MUST be submitted by Friday, 23 June in order to be counted and marked for semester one courses. If you have any questions related to the end of the semester, flick an email to Neroli.

Finally, if you think you may need an extension, contact Neroli, and complete an Application for Extension form.

Course Evaluations

We regularly gather feedback for courses across our qualifications. Not all courses are evaluated every semester, but evaluations are open for the following courses:

Gospels: Luke
Te Ao Māori
People of God
Introduction to the New Testament
Introduction to Pastoral Care
Foundations of Youth Ministry
Issues Facing the Church Today
Christian Worldview
Baptist Churches

You will find the link to the evaluations in your respective Course Announcements forum. Surveys will close Wednesday, 31 May at 11pm. Please make completing these a priority.

Have you checked this gem out?

d12e3ef7-fa13-d80f-2d13-88d31d7405e2.jpgAre you familiar with the Student Handbook? If not, you're missing out. It has helpful information about all sorts of things related to study at Carey. But most importantly, it tells you where you can get help and how your wellbeing and safety as a student are cared for at Carey. That includes what happens if you're sick or have an accident, how to handle student complaints and grievances, and other key resources.

And remember, Tanya and Eugene, the Library staff, Neroli, and the rest of us at Carey are here to support you. Also, check out our Support and Wellbeing webpage for even more helpful information.
