CAREY WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 2023 SEMESTER 1 WEEK 11

Enjoy the little things

You see that in the picture there? Not the Carey logo, or the building. That blue thing. It's called the sky, and we've not seen much of it in Tāmaki Makaurau lately. And the usual fascination with the weather here has only increased. But, the blue seems bluer when you haven't seen it in a while, and it's easier to appreciate the sun after another onslaught of rain.

Wherever you are, take some time to enjoy the little things this weekend--the sun after the rain, the crisp autumn air, a walk in the park with a friend, or an afternoon nap. It might be just what you need.

Support and Wellbeing, and the Student Handbook

It's that time of year where you can easily get bogged down by assessments, due dates, reading, and a lot of other things happning in the semester. Don't forget about our Student Handbook and Support and Wellbeing page, where we detail all the people and processes at Carey that are in place for you. Our students matter greatly, and we work tirelessly to help you thrive here. Check out those resources, and don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything.

Extensions

If you are worried about getting your assessments done in time and would like to request an extension, please contact Neroli Hollis, and complete an Application for Extension form.

Graduation Helpers Needed

We still need some helpers for graduation, and we're handing out free movie tickets to anyone who can help! It's one of the most special days on the Carey calendar, but it doesn't happen without heaps of work.

If you are able to help set up and tear down at graduation on Saturday, 20 May at 2pm at Manukau City Baptist Church, let Neroli know.
