CAREY WEEKLY 2022 SEMESTER 2 WEEK 7

Mid-semester Study/Reading Weeks

This week started our study/reading weeks, which continue through week 9 (Friday, 23 September). As a reminder, no on-site courses take place during this time, aside from the Children's Ministry block course in week 9, from 19-23 September.

Also, weekly karakia and community lunches will not take place until week 10, beginning Monday, 26 September. Library hours will remain the same.

As you're working hard on assessments, our staff will continue to be available to support you as usual. Keep up the good work!

Celebrate our Researching Community

The Carey community regularly produces significant research on a wide range of topics relevant to the church in Aotearoa and across the world. Come celebrate that impact at the CGS Research Conference and Celebration of Scholarship events on 22 September.

Carey Graduate School students will present research at the CGS Research Conference from 9am-5pm, and we are launching books by John Tucker, Phil Halstead, Michael Rhodes, and Christa McKirland at the Celebration of Scholarship from 7pm-9pm. Both events take place at Carey.

Register for the CGS Research Conference and the Celebration of Scholarship events separately, so we can cater accordingly.

Peer Writing Assistants

Your Peer Writing Assistants for 2022 are absolute legends. First, they are brilliant. Second, they have volunteered their time to work with students to help with academic writing and literacy. Thank you Jacqui, Grace, and Joy (left to right in photo) for helping offer this support.

If you are keen on some excellent perspective and help on your writing, book a 25-50-minute session by contacting the Library with the following details:

  • Your name and student ID number
  • Which assessment you are focussing on (course, assessment outline), and briefly identify what aspect of the assessment you would like help with.
