As you will all be aware, Auckland is currently at Covid Alert Level 3, meaning that our Carey campus is closed. All classes have moved fully online. We are as disappointed as you no doubt are for this late and unexpected change, however we are still excited to be able to begin the semester with you all online and know that God has all of this in His hands!

If you are a new student to Carey, please note the following changes and arrangements for what Carey activities will look like under Alert Level 3.

Communication:

All important Covid-19 related student messages will be posted to CareyOnline homepage. Please check this page regularly for the latest information – check your notification preferences (under your Preferences in your CareyOnline profile) if you would like (or would NOT like) these messages to be emailed to you.  Key information will also be sent to you via email. Carey-wide information will also be posted to the website.

Classes and teaching:

All classes have been moved online, and will be meeting online via Zoom. Download and install the Zoom App onto your phone or laptop. Please check on CareyOnline in your courses for specific information – a summary revised Week 1 timetable can be found here. Go to your CareyOnline courses – Course Information for the specific link to the Zoom classes.  All sessions will be recorded and uploaded into CareyOnline as normal. Contact your teacher if you have any questions.

General Support and Technology help:

If you hare having difficulty accessing your CareyOnline courses, trouble with Zoom or issues with access to a device, please get in touch with us so we can help. Feel free to contact your teaching team for questions about the course, or Neroli Hollis (neroli.hollis@carey.ac.nz) if you need any other support and we will link you up with the best people to help.
The library team (library@carey.ac.nz) can assist you with access to books and resources (see below also). The Paihere student support team are also available to help: Tanya Lameta (tanya.lameta@carey.ac.nz) and Jordyn Morgan (jordyn.morgan@carey.ac.nz).
Click here for support resources for CareyOnline or Zoom.

Library:

A librarian will be onsite Mon-Friday 10am-1pm during level 3. A click and collect service is available for students during those hours. We can scan and post books to distance students. Librarians will be working offsite during normal opening hours. Any questions, please email library@carey.ac.nz

Community Life:

We will continue to meet online to talk and support each other, to pray and to praise together. Details will be posted for Tuesday chapel, Wednesday coffee catchups and Training Tracks (Tuesday morning groups).

Take care, stay connected and please reach out if you need any assistance or have any further questions. Ngā mihi nui.
