SEMESTER 1   |   WEEK 5

WE LOVE COMMUNITY!

With the shift to a fully online mode of delivery, we’re rethinking how we can connect with each other and worship together. We’re going to experiment with a few ideas over the coming few weeks, and we’d be keen to hear any ideas that you might have (email John at john.tucker@carey.ac.nz). In the meantime, here’s what we have planned for this coming week:

MONDAY WORSHIP

Let’s start the week as a learning community by lifting our eyes to Jesus. At 9.00 am this Monday (30 March) the pukaea will sound. Join us online for 25 minutes of community worship. There’ll be opportunity to interact live with one another as we lift our eyes, confess our need, receive God’s word, and respond in prayer for the week and the world.

WEDNESDAY LUNCH

At 12.30 on Wednesday we’re going to have a bit of online fun over lunch. Sam is cooking up something crazy. It’ll be good to play a game, have some fun, and then chat with others in the Carey community. As Jacinda says, let’s be kind, and look out for one another.

WE'RE IN LOCKDOWN

Carey campus is closed for the lock-down period. All staff and teachers are still available via email/CareyOnline. Carey is moving all courses (that includes all Undergraduate and Postgraduate BLOCK courses) online from Monday 30 March. We are excited about this opportunity to facilitate learning in this way! You should have received information from your course teachers to clarify what arrangements are in place. Please contact your teachers if you have any questions.

If you have any issues with accessing learning materials please let your course teacher know, or contact Neroli (neroli.hollis@carey.ac.nz).

If you need any further support please contact Rob Ayres (rob.ayres@carey.ac.nz) or Neroli Hollis. Praying you stay safe and well during this lock-down period. Kia kaha. Arohanui.”
The Library Team is up and running!!.

A notice is now on the library web page - basically, although the library is closed we are contactable (library@carey.ac.nz) and happy to help with any of your library or study requests.

PRAYER

From Psalm 121

And thus the Lord will keep you
shielding you from the forces of evil
as a shade tree shields you  (stay with this image for a moment, soak up what that image is telling us  and pray it for yourself)
from the rays of the blazing sun
