SEMESTER 1   |   WEEK 4
Timing is everything, and either our very own Dr George Wieland is ahead-of-the-curve, or he’s a prophet.

He said this last August while teaching in a webinar: “Now, instead of picturing a church building, imagine the households of members of this faith community as the primary locations of the practice and growth of faith.  What would be different?”  Well, 6 months later COVID-19 has Christian-faith-communities all over the planet figuring out what needs to be different.

He was teaching about the impact of households in the early church, specifically in The Book of Acts, and he looked at 14 different households and the impact of those faith communities. You can watch the recording of that webinar (link is below) – I hope the biblical example of those first Christians will be a real encouragement and inspiration to you at this time. Thank you George!

PRAYER

Lord, we pray for the most vulnerable and isolated in our communities. We pray for those who are currently self-isolating in our neighbourhoods. We pray for older people who are concerned about shopping, regular hospital appointments, and general day to day contact with other people. Please give wisdom to our nation’s leaders, and to our church leaders, that they might make good decisions on behalf of us all.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27
