Tēnā koutou katoa!
Please join us on our bicultural journey as we take up the challenge of learning the first language of this country - te reo Māori. In the process of learning the basics of Te Reo Māori we'll also discover more about Māori as tangata whenua and how relationships might be forged and faith shared in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Classes will be fun, free of charge and focussed on developing simple but useful language skills. We will learn how to mihi (greet people), say a pepehā (introduction), write and recite karakia (prayers) and sing waiata (songs). We will also learn how to tailor our new language skills to suit specific occasions.
Classes are Wednesday nights 6pm - 7.30pm. We will have some dinner beforehand at 5.15pm in the Dining Room.
Numbers for this class are limited so don't delay - register today! http://carey.ac.nz/news/te-reo-maori/ Anyone is welcome to join us to spread the word!
