SEMESTER 1  |  TEACHING WEEK 11
Meet Jack Dews. He's new to this world and Morgan (our Ministry Training Coordinator) has started on a wild rollercoaster ride of being his mum.

She writes: "The last 3 weeks has been the most mind blowing, heart growing, capacity stretching experience of my life. I am learning to love in a way that I didn't know was possible. This is Jack. He has shown me God's redemptive heart through different eyes. Eyes that see the beauty of humanity in it's purest and simplest form. I praise You because we are fearfully and wonderfully made."

COURSE EVALUATIONS

Semesterly course evaluations are coming up soon. At Carey, each course is evaluated at least once every three years – so every course is NOT evaluated every semester. The courses being evaluated this semester are Prophets, Spirit and Trinity, Te Ao Māori, Baptist Churches, Understanding Culture, Luke, Intro to Pastoral Care and Christian Worldview. Watch your inbox in the coming days for the evaluation survey link. If you have any questions about the evaluations talk to Neroli!

ASSESSMENTS, DUE DATES AND EXTENSIONS

Please remember that in general, you need to submit your assessment by the due date published in the Course Outline. If you submit your assessment AFTER the due date, and up to one week late – then it will be marked with a 10% late penalty applied to the grade. If you submit later than 7 days after the due date, and before 14 days after the due date it will be marked pass/fail only – and the maximum you will receive is 50% (pass). So the best thing, in almost all cases is to hand it in ON TIME ?. However, we all know life happens…. So if you need an extension then talk to your teacher and Neroli and fill in the Application For Extension (find it on CareyOnline under FORMS FOR STUDENTS). We do our best to be flexible and work with you when things go pear-shaped, so be proactive and let us know. We are here to help.

PEER WRITING ASSISTANTS

Do you want some support with assignment writing? Do you know about our Peer Writing Assistants? We have a new Peer Writing Assistants (PWAs) team who have volunteered their time to work with students to help them with academic writing and academic literacy.

Talk to the library team or the PWA team if you want to know more about what a PWA can do for you! Thank you Rebecca Pullen, Susanna Denby, Grace Paddison and Jono Edmeades!

The team won’t write your assignment for you ?, but WILL help you with the process of writing and give you feedback on the overall structure of your work. If you would like help with your assessments, you are able to book time with one of our PWA team.

Appointments can be in-person on campus, or online (Zoom etc). For an appointment, please contact the library (NOT the PWA team) as below:
For an extended one-to-one booking (30 minute or 60 minute options) email : library@carey.ac.nz and include:
