Kia ora,

It’s exciting to know we can now move to Level 2. We know it’s been very challenging for many of you to juggle different study patterns with the demands of home life, ministry and work. We are exceedingly proud of each of you and are here to continue the journey together. God is still in control, the Maker of the Universe who is closer to you than a brother.

Here is what Carey life and study will look like at Level 2.

Study @ Carey

Study and lectures will continue online for the remainder of Semester One. However, if you are an on-site student, you are welcome to make appointments by email or phone in order to meet face to face with teaching and/or administrative staff on matters relating to your study.

Campus is open

From Monday 18 May the campus will be open for some limited activities with physical distancing, contact tracing and hygiene protocols in place.

Library & Student Support

The Library will be open at these times:

9am – 5pm Monday to Friday

10am – 12.30pm Saturday

If you need any additional support please reach out to us. In the first instance, contact either Neroli Hollis (neroli.hollis@carey.ac.nz) or talk with your teacher. We are here for you.

Community Life

There will be no Monday and Tuesday lunches on-site.

However, we are continuing with our online community activities. Your family and others living with you are welcome to join too!

Community Worship – Mondays 9am – 9.25am

Join us as we gather around the Word, pray for our World, and lean into our Work for the week ahead.

At the beginning of this year we chose Psalm 121 as our theme for our community worship. I love the way this psalm says – no less than six times! – the Lord watches over you.

The One who never slumbers or sleeps, the One who never gets tired or distracted, the One who stands at your side, is constantly watching over you. He sees your path. He knows your challenges. And he will help you. He knew COVID-19 was coming. You can trust him. He’ll get you through.

“The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore”

Every blessing,

John
